Futurex Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) are physical cryptographic devices designed to perform encryption operations and manage encryption keys in enterprise environments. They are validated to FIPS 140-2 Level 3 and PCI HSM standards and are available in three deployment models: on-premises, cloud (via Futurex's VirtuCrypt global cloud service), and hybrid. Futurex offers multiple HSM product lines: - **Payment HSM (Excrypt Plus):** Targets banks, retailers, transaction processors, fintechs, and payment gateways. Handles payment transaction processing, PIN issuance/validation, P2PE, tokenization, and EMV issuance. Processes up to 5,000 transactions per second. - **Enterprise Payment HSM (Excrypt SSP Enterprise v.2):** Designed for high-volume environments, processing up to 50,000 transactions per second in a 1U rack form factor. Supports EMV, P2PE, tokenization, PIN issuance, 3D Secure, and mobile payments (Host Card Emulation). - **General Purpose HSM (Vectera Plus):** Supports database encryption, PKI environments (including CA key generation/protection), privileged access management, and broad regulatory compliance. Runs payment and general-purpose functions simultaneously. - **CryptoHub:** A cryptographic platform built on Futurex's Base Architecture Model (BAM), designed to support interoperability across cryptographic environments and enable enterprise-scale crypto orchestration. All HSMs support vendor-neutral APIs including PKCS #11, JCA/JCE, OpenSSL, and RESTful web APIs. HSM virtualization enables logically independent processing environments within a single device. A Secure Code Environment (SCE) allows custom application execution within the cryptographic boundary.
