FileCloud Data Residency is a feature of the FileCloud Enterprise File Sync and Share (EFSS) platform that enables organizations to designate specific geographic regions for data storage and processing. It is designed to help organizations meet regional data privacy and sovereignty regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA, CPRA, and others. FileCloud can be deployed in three hosting models: - Cloud-hosted (FileCloud Online): Users select from predefined regional data centers across North America (US East, US West, Canada), Europe (Ireland, London, Frankfurt), Asia Pacific (Singapore, Sydney, Hong Kong), Middle East (Bahrain, UAE), and GovCloud. - Self-hosted (FileCloud Server): Organizations host data on their own on-premises infrastructure or via a chosen infrastructure provider. - Hybrid cloud: A combination of cloud and on-premises hosting. The platform supports compliance with various regional data laws by ensuring that personally identifiable information (PII) and other sensitive or confidential data is collected, processed, and stored within the legally required country or region.
