The company was acquired by DomainTools to complement its existing internet intelligence capabilities with Farsight's DNS observation dataset. Farsight's primary product is DNSDB, a passive DNS database that collects and indexes DNS resolution data observed across the internet. This data can be used to identify infrastructure associated with threat actors, investigate domains and IP addresses, and track changes in DNS records over time. Combined with DomainTools' internet intelligence data, the platform aims to provide visibility into emerging threats by correlating DNS observations with broader domain and IP intelligence.
