The EdgeWave Email Filtering Appliance MAG2650 is a managed on-premises email security appliance powered by Red Condor technology. The appliance supports up to 2,500 mailboxes and provides email filtering at the network perimeter to protect against spam, viruses, spyware, phishing, and other email-borne threats. The appliance operates as a self-contained unit with its own hardened operating system and requires no additional software or hardware installations. It is monitored and maintained by EdgeWave engineers who provide proactive management and apply updates automatically. The system uses behavior-based filtering technology and adaptive threat detection to identify and block email threats. Key capabilities include TLS encryption for secure email communications, perimeter defense against denial of service attacks, and Zero Minute Defense which deploys protection rules as soon as emerging threats are identified. The appliance includes disaster recovery protection that spools email for up to 96 hours in case of server outages. Users can manage quarantined spam through a personal dashboard and receive spam digest reports. Administrators access a web-based dashboard for policy configuration and monitoring. The system provides comprehensive reporting across the organization or for individual users. Outbound spam and virus filtering is included to protect against blacklisting. The appliance can be configured in clusters for enterprise deployments and offers a hybrid option when combined with hosted SaaS service for failover protection. Basic maintenance and service packs are required for operation and include extended warranty, managed service, and spam/virus updates.
