Cyberoam CR50iNG is a unified threat management (UTM) appliance designed for small and medium enterprises with 60-400 users. The product is no longer available and has been replaced by Sophos solutions. The appliance implements Layer 8 User Identity Technology, which binds security policies to user identities rather than IP addresses. This approach provides visibility into user activities and enables identity-based access controls across security features. The device includes network security capabilities such as stateful inspection firewall, intrusion prevention system, and wireless security. Content security features include anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam for inbound and outbound email, and HTTPS/SSL content inspection. The device features on-appliance reporting through iView and supports centralized management. It is IPv6 Ready Gold certified and includes Extensible Security Architecture (ESA) for future feature enhancements.
