Cyberoam CR300iNG is a Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliance designed for small and medium enterprise networks. The product is no longer available and has been replaced by Sophos solutions. The appliance implements Layer 8 Identity-based security, which treats user identity as the eighth layer in the network protocol stack. This allows administrators to identify users, control internet activity, and create policies based on usernames rather than IP addresses alone. The device includes stateful inspection firewall capabilities with support for multiple security zones, access control based on user identity, MAC and IP addresses, and service types. It provides protection against DoS and DDoS attacks, MAC and IP-MAC filtering, and spoof prevention. Security features include an Intrusion Prevention System that protects against network and application-level attacks, malware, Trojans, and blended threats. Gateway Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware scan traffic across HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, IM, and VPN tunnels. The appliance offers web filtering with a URL database covering 89+ categories to block harmful websites and prevent phishing and pharming attacks. Application Visibility and Control covers 2000+ applications, allowing prioritization based on user identity, time, and bandwidth requirements. VPN capabilities include IPSec and SSL VPN with support for up to 400 IPSec tunnels. The device includes on-appliance reporting with 1200+ reports for real-time visibility into user and network activities. Additional features include bandwidth management with QoS controls, Web Application Firewall subscription for protecting against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, Gateway Anti-Spam for inbound and outbound email, and support for IPv6, 3G/4G/WiMAX connectivity, and multiple link management.
