Cyberoam CR200iNG is a Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) appliance designed for small and medium enterprise networks. The product is no longer available and has been replaced by Sophos offerings after Cyberoam became a Sophos company. The appliance provides stateful inspection firewall capabilities with Layer 8 Identity-based security that treats user identity as the eighth layer in the network protocol stack. This enables administrators to control network activity based on username rather than just IP addresses. The device offers inline application inspection and control covering over 2000 applications, with classification based on risk level and characteristics. It includes intrusion prevention system (IPS) functionality to protect against network and application-level attacks, malware, trojans, DoS/DDoS attacks, and blended threats. Content security features include gateway anti-virus and anti-spyware scanning across multiple protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP), web filtering with a URL database covering 89+ categories, and optional web application firewall subscription for protecting against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities. The appliance supports VPN connectivity through both IPSec and SSL protocols with threat-free tunneling technology. It provides bandwidth management with QoS capabilities tied to users, user groups, applications, and website categories. The CR200iNG includes on-appliance reporting with over 1200 reports for real-time visibility into user and network activities. The device features 10 copper Gigabit Ethernet ports, hardware bypass segments, and supports multiple security zones with 802.1q VLAN capability.
