ScoutDNS Network Visibility is a DNS-layer monitoring solution that provides visibility into network DNS activity. The platform stores and reports DNS query data through a data warehouse engine. The solution offers 30 days of searchable query logs with the ability to view up to 1000 rows of aggregate data. Users can inspect DNS RDATA and message contents for detailed analysis of DNS requests and responses, including CNAME chains and TTL values. The platform provides multiple analysis views including domain usage aggregation, activity categorized by content type, Top Level Domain (TLD) exploration, and record type insights. Each view supports filtering by policy, location, and other parameters, with drill-down capabilities to access detailed logs. For roaming clients, the system tracks user, domain, and response data, including queries made outside of WAN or LAN networks. Administrators can search 30 days of query history for individual client devices and monitor detected threats. Query logs include real domain name search functionality, descriptive reason columns, and CSV export capabilities. Domains can be added to allow or block lists directly from the interface for troubleshooting purposes. The platform includes content filtering with 67 categories, threat protection against malware and phishing, and device protection features including WAN forwarding and cloud relays.
