SecureNinja Secure Coding using C and C++ is a five-day instructor-led training course designed for security professionals with intermediate programming experience. The course covers secure coding practices for C and C++ programming languages. The training curriculum addresses buffer overflows and code injections, including stack overflows, heap overflows, array indexing attacks, and format string attacks. It covers integer overflow vulnerabilities, safe API usage, and secure memory handling techniques. The course includes modules on input validation, secure file handling, and application denial of service vulnerabilities. Additional topics include network security concepts, encryption implementation using cryptographic APIs (CryptoAPI, DPAPI, Crypto++), authentication and authorization mechanisms, and thread safety issues such as race conditions and TOCTOU vulnerabilities. The course also covers logging and error handling, anti-reversing techniques, and integration of security into the development lifecycle. The training includes hands-on labs where students work with code to perform security tasks such as log parsing, password cracking, port scanning, vulnerability testing, web application security testing, malware analysis, and exploit development. Students receive skeleton scripts that can be used as reference materials for security tasks after completing the course. The course is delivered as an onsite format for groups of five or more participants and spans 40 hours over five days.
