NetEdge is a software-based tunnel termination endpoint designed to work with SecEdge's MicroEdge devices. It runs as a virtual machine (VM) or cloud instance and serves as the termination point for encrypted tunnels established by MicroEdge hardware devices. NetEdge operates behind a service provider firewall, receiving all external network flows that are securely tunneled to it before being routed to their final destination. It supports encrypted data plane traffic and is capable of traffic control clustering. A single MicroEdge device can establish multiple tunnels to distinct NetEdge instances simultaneously. This allows, for example, one tunnel to be routed to an application server processing device data while a separate tunnel connects to a third-party device monitoring server.
