IDappcom Rules, PCAPs & Library is a collection of network traffic files, security detection rules, and vulnerability intelligence data for use in IDS/IPS testing and configuration. **PCAP Files:** IDappcom provides unencrypted PCAP (Packet Capture) files containing examples of real malicious network traffic exploiting known vulnerabilities, as well as benign traffic samples for configuration testing. PCAPs are also available in a proprietary encrypted format called KAR, which prevents antivirus scanners from inspecting or deleting them. KAR files are replayed using IDappcom's TrafficIQ software. **Security Rules:** The ruleset consists of Snort-compatible signatures written in standard Snort syntax. Each rule is tied to a specific vulnerability and its associated PCAP, and can be loaded directly into Snort-compatible IDS and IPS platforms. Rules are available as text files or in a Microsoft Access database format. **IDappcom Library:** The full library contains over 21,000 proven exploits, combining PCAP/KAR files and Snort security rules with additional metadata per vulnerability. Metadata includes filename, threat name, description, publish date, CVSS scores, severity rating, attack type, category, impact, protocol, and external references. The library is accessible as a Microsoft Access database or via a JSON API. Rules are researched and validated against real, in-the-wild exploits before publication. The ruleset covers not only known exploitable vulnerabilities but also variants and morphed versions of those exploits. Rules are compatible with Snort and other Snort-based IDS platforms.
