Enginsight IDS/IPS is a host-based Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (HIDS/HIPS) that detects and blocks network attacks on servers and clients across cloud, on-premises, and home office environments. The system is built on Pulsar agents installed on each host, making it hardware-independent and scalable without requiring dedicated network sensors at switches or firewalls. Because detection runs at the host level, the system remains active even when a client leaves the corporate network. Detection coverage includes: - Port scans (TCP, UDP) - Spoofing (ARP, DNS) - Brute force attacks (SSH, FTP, RDP, HTTP) - Cross-site scripting (XSS) - SQL injection - Extended attack signatures via SNORT Community Rules (e.g., attacks on Microsoft IIS, Exchange Server, CGI attacks) The decentralized architecture enables detection and blocking of lateral movement within internal network segments, not just perimeter threats. Infected systems can be isolated to prevent further spread. Detection and blocking sensitivity levels are configurable per host or group using a tag-based system and a slider interface, allowing administrators to balance security, performance, and availability. The platform consolidates attack data across all monitored hosts, providing visibility into attacker IP addresses, attack vectors, and attack stage progression (information gathering, access attempts, lateral movement). Alerts can be sent to responsible personnel for critical conditions.
