EdgeWave Email Continuity is an email availability solution that maintains email access during planned or unplanned email server interruptions. The service automatically spools messages when the destination mail server becomes unavailable and provides users with web-based access to continue email operations. During outages, users can read, compose, reply to, forward, and delete messages through a web interface. The service supports attachment upload and download capabilities, as well as header text searches across mailboxes. Administrators can configure rules to divert outbound messages to users' Sent Mail folders for activity synchronization. The solution integrates with LDAP for user credential synchronization, which are cached during outages. It maintains a rolling 35-day archive of both inbound and outbound messages that remain accessible during interruptions. All received messages are BCC'd while Email Continuity is enabled, and once the email server is restored, these messages are delivered to user inboxes. The service is managed through EdgeWave Messaging Security's central management console and requires EdgeWave Email Filtering to operate, as it must process both inbound and outbound messages. Email Continuity maintains corporate policies supporting compliance with industry regulations and corporate governance during outages. The service works with virtually all email servers, whether hosted or on-premises, but does not provide access to contacts or calendar events.
