The CRU DataPort 10 (DP10) Secure is a hardware-based encrypted removable drive enclosure designed for government agencies, digital cinemas, and SMB organizations that require secure storage and transport of sensitive data. The unit uses AES 256-bit hardware encryption, validated to FIPS 140-2 (certificate number 1471). Encryption and decryption are performed automatically and transparently via a dedicated hardware processor, requiring no software installation or password management. Physical encryption keys are mounted to the back of the frame and secured into the host computer. Data can only be accessed by reinserting the carrier into its original frame or a frame fitted with a matching encryption key. Frames with matching keys can be distributed across multiple locations, allowing secure drive transport between sites. The enclosure supports SATA 2.5", 3.5", and SSD drives via a SATA interface at up to 1.5 Gbps. The aluminum frame and carrier provide thermal dissipation, and each carrier includes CRU's Temperature Controlled Cooling System (TCCS™) with an audible overheat alarm. Four LEDs indicate power status, drive activity, and encryption key validity (valid/invalid). The frame includes a mini-USB security key port on its face. Connectors are rated for over 30,000 insertions, and the cooling fan uses an Ultra-quiet Vapo Bearing MagLev (Magnetic Levitation) system. Compliance: FCC, CE, RoHS, TAA.
