The Hamster Pro 20 is a USB fingerprint reader designed for authentication, identification, and verification use cases. It is FBI Certified as meeting FIPS 201 (PIV) and Mobile ID FAP 20 requirements, and is also STQC Certified for AADHAAR/UIDAI applications in India. The device uses an optical contact sensor operating at 500 DPI and features a low-profile, ultra-compact, and water-resistant form factor. It connects via USB and is compatible with Windows, Linux, and Android operating systems. The reader supports Windows Hello out of the box, enabling passwordless fingerprint login on Windows 10. The sensor is built to handle challenging fingerprint conditions, including dry, wet, and scarred fingerprints, and includes latent print rejection to prevent acceptance of residual fingerprints left on the sensor.
