The NCP Authenticator App is a mobile authenticator application that implements Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) authentication for two-step verification. It generates time-based one-time passcodes (OTP) locally on a user's smartphone or tablet, without requiring an internet or network connection. The app supports multiple hash algorithms (SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512) and allows configurable time-step intervals of 30 or 60 seconds, with generated codes ranging from 6 to 8 digits in length. Accounts can be added by scanning a QR code via the device camera, via a browser link, or by manual entry. While designed to work with NCP VPN accounts and the NCP Secure Enterprise Management platform, the app is also compatible with any service that implements the standard TOTP authentication method, including Google, Dropbox, and PayPal. When used alongside NCP Secure Enterprise Management, QR codes can be configured to enforce biometric authentication as an additional security measure before the app can be launched. Generated codes can be copied to the clipboard for convenient use. The app is available as a free download for iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store).
