IDappcom Distributed Rules Manager (DRM) is a centralized platform for managing and maintaining multiple Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) across distributed networks. DRM allows IT managers to push rule and signature updates to all security controls across a corporate network simultaneously from remote centralized databases. This enables organizations to respond to newly discovered exploits within hours of their appearance on global threat lists. The platform draws on a continuously researched and updated database of vendor and third-party exploit-matched rules, which can be selected, fine-tuned, edited, and tested before being applied to security controls network-wide. DRM integrates with EndaceProbe appliances, deploying Snort IDS Virtual Machines (VMs) across the network. Using RESTful APIs and Endace's Pivot to Vision (PTV) functionality, analysts can correlate IDS alerts with synchronized network traffic events in real time, directing investigation to the exact packets that triggered an alert.
