Enginsight Microsegmentation is a host-based network segmentation solution designed to implement Zero Trust principles within enterprise environments. It operates at the host level, converting centrally defined rules into system firewall rules via the Enginsight Shield component, which receives instructions from the platform's API. The solution allows administrators to define network segments, create rule sets and policies, and apply them across desired segments from a single platform interface. Each host is isolated within its designated microsegment, meaning no inbound or outbound connections are permitted unless explicitly defined as exceptions. A practical use case highlighted is the isolation of database servers: administrators can group hosts into named segments (e.g., Admins, vulnerable servers, databases) and define precise access rules — for example, permitting only hosts in the "Admins" segment to reach a specific server's RDP port over TCP. In addition to segmentation, the platform includes an intrusion detection function based on Snort rules, enabling network-side monitoring of hosts and the ability to block them when anomalies are detected. The solution is positioned for organizations of various sizes, including SMEs and enterprise environments, and is developed and certified in Germany (TÜV-certified, TeleTrusT IT Security Made in Germany seal, and listed under Germany's Alliance for Cybersecurity).
