Duo Passport is a cloud-based identity security tool that reduces authentication friction by enabling users to authenticate once and maintain access across multiple applications and devices. The product uses Duo Desktop software installed on user computers to share session information between browsers, desktop clients, and Windows Logon. The solution performs invisible authentication by verifying user identity and device trust upon initial login, then continuously evaluates trust using adaptive, risk-based policies without re-prompting users. When combined with Duo Desktop and Duo Authentication for Windows Logon, users can access Duo Single Sign-On applications without entering usernames or passwords. Duo Passport supports remembered device sessions that are shared between browsers and desktop applications accessing Duo-protected apps. The product works with both two-factor authentication-only applications and Duo Single Sign-On applications. It also supports passwordless authentication for SSO applications with Duo Passwordless enabled. The tool provides organization-wide coverage for multi-factor authentication and granular access controls to meet compliance mandates such as PCI-DSS and HIPAA. It is included in Duo Advantage and Duo Premier editions and is available for Windows and macOS clients.
