xDeTECH (formerly xSentinel) is a synthetic voice detection tool developed by Daon, part of their AI.X deepfake defense product family. It is designed to help organizations identify whether an incoming voice call is from a real human or a digitally generated (synthetic) source. The tool operates at the point of entry for calls and analyzes incoming audio in real time as calls stream in. It uses multiple patented and proprietary algorithms to detect cues indicative of digitally generated audio, providing a result within seconds of a caller beginning to speak. Agents can then decide whether to continue the call, initiate additional authentication, or terminate the call. xDeTECH does not use voice biometrics and does not identify who is speaking. Instead, it analyzes technical characteristics of the audio signal itself, independent of language, dialect, accent, or content. This makes it effective across different languages and geographies without requiring speaker enrollment or any action from the caller. The system is built as a standalone service that can be integrated into any voice communication platform and does not require Daon's own IdentityX or TrustX platforms to function. It requires no additional hardware or software investment and can be deployed into existing workflows. xDeTECH's machine learning algorithms are designed to adapt over time as voice generation technology evolves, allowing it to remain effective against emerging synthetic voice threats including voicebots and deepfake-generated voices used in contact center fraud.
