Cryptas primeID VSC is a virtual smart card solution for Windows environments. The product uses Windows mini driver architecture to present itself to applications in the same manner as a physical smart card, allowing users to interact with it through standard Windows card and PIN dialogs. The solution is designed to generate, store, and use cryptographic keys and digital certificates for authentication to IT systems and data encryption. It can be configured as an identical copy of a physical smart card, maintaining the same certificate inventory and PIN configuration. primeID VSC serves multiple deployment scenarios including emergency and recovery situations when physical cards are unavailable, as a temporary card during employee onboarding processes, and as a standalone certificate carrier for environments where physical cards are impractical. The product is compatible with existing physical smart card infrastructures and can function alongside them.
