Byos Secure Gateway Edge is a ruggedized, plug-and-play IoT gateway hardware device designed to provide secure connectivity for operational technology (OT) devices and legacy infrastructure. It functions by isolating connected assets from the broader network through microsegmentation, rendering them invisible to the network and eliminating lateral movement exposure. The device supports dual connectivity modes: Ethernet mode for wired and legacy devices, and Client mode for connecting to existing Wi-Fi networks. No drivers, software installation, or changes to the underlying network are required for deployment. It operates as part of the Byos Secure Networking Platform, which consists of two components: - Byos Secure Lobby™ (Data Plane): A Software-Defined Network (SDN) overlay that enables communication between assets connected to Secure Edge devices, supporting remote monitoring, troubleshooting, updating, and patching without exposing internal assets to the internet. - Byos Management Console (Control Plane): A centralized administration interface for managing all deployed Byos Secure Edge devices, with real-time policy pushing. Security protections include: infiltration prevention (detects packet routing changes and blocks data leakage), a bi-directional firewall controlling traffic by country, protocol, IP, domain, and port, eavesdropping prevention, encrypted private DNS queries, attack prevention (DoS, fingerprinting, enumeration, exploits), and traffic volume monitoring for malware detection. The device is FIPS 140-2 validated (Certificate #4964) and is manufactured in the USA. Primary use cases include manufacturing plant floors and critical infrastructure environments.
