NC Protect for Microsoft 365 & SharePoint Online is a data-centric security platform that uses attribute-based access control (ABAC) to enforce dynamic access and protection policies across Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint Online, Office, and Exchange, as well as SharePoint Server on-premises and Windows file shares. The platform automatically discovers, classifies, and secures sensitive data by evaluating a combination of data and user attributes — such as file content, metadata, sensitivity labels, IP location, device type, time of day, user role, nationality, and clearance level — to determine access rights and apply protections in real time. Classification capabilities allow organizations to label data based on sensitivity, augment Microsoft Purview sensitivity labels with additional labels, and support multi-label classification for complex taxonomy requirements. Access control and data protection policies can enforce read-only access, hide sensitive files from unauthorized users, apply user-based security watermarks, automatically encrypt files based on sensitivity, and restrict attachments in Exchange email. NC Protect supports cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployments and requires no additional client-side application. A centralized policy engine provides an interface for building and managing access control and file protection policies. User activity and protection logs can be integrated with SIEM tools for further analysis.
