AirID Virtual is a mobile application for authentication, digital signing, and data encryption that runs on iOS smartphones. It eliminates the need for physical smartcards and dedicated card readers by virtualizing smartcard functionality on a mobile device. The application uses hybrid encryption, combining RSA and Post-Quantum (PQC) cryptographic algorithms to secure communications and stored credentials. Connectivity between the smartphone and a host system is established via Bluetooth or, optionally, through a physical AirID NFC card. Authentication is strengthened through multi-factor authentication (MFA) that leverages the smartphone's built-in biometric capabilities (e.g., fingerprint, face recognition). The app functions as a standalone application on iOS, supporting secure authentication, data encryption, and email signing without requiring network connectivity. AirID Virtual is suitable for both individual and enterprise use cases, serving as a software-based alternative to traditional hardware tokens and smartcard readers.
