The APG8205 OTP Generator is a standalone handheld device designed for banking and e-payment authentication applications. The device operates independently without requiring connectivity to external systems. The device provides two-factor authentication by requiring users to insert an EMV card and enter a PIN through the built-in PIN pad. After verifying both the card and PIN code, it generates one-time passwords for single-use online transactions such as banking logons and telephone orders. The APG8205 supports three authentication modes: One-Time Password (OTP) generation, Challenge-Response authentication, and Transaction Data Signing using PKI digital signatures. All authentication operations are based on security keys stored in EMV cards. The device features a graphical LCD display capable of showing logos and multiple-language characters, a tactile keypad membrane with 20 keys, and a monotone buzzer. It includes a full-sized smart card slot supporting ISO 7816 Class A cards with T=0 and T=1 protocols. The device allows semi-insertion of cards and includes short circuit protection. Power is provided by two replaceable CR2032 batteries with intelligent battery management designed for a life expectancy of up to 5 years depending on usage. Additional features include a built-in calculator function and e-Purse capability. The device is compliant with MasterCard Chip Authentication Program (CAP), MasterCard AA4C/PLA, Visa Dynamic Passcode Authentication (DPA), EMV Level 1 certification, ISO 7816, CE, FCC, and RoHS 2 standards.
