SecuGen USB Fingerprint Sensors are OEM optical fingerprint sensor modules designed to be embedded into third-party hardware devices. The product line includes three main models: U10, U20-AL/UPx-AP, and U30, each varying in form factor and FBI certification level. The U10 is an ultra-slim sensor certified by the FBI for compliance with Next Generation Identification (NGI) Image Quality Specifications (IQS), supporting PIV, FIPS 201, and Mobile ID FAP 10. The U20-AL shares similar FBI certification but supports Mobile ID FAP 20. The UPx-AP is a lower-cost variant using a lightweight synthetic prism, without FBI certification. The U30 features a compact ergonomic design and is FBI certified for Mobile ID FAP 30. All models use optical contact sensing at 500 DPI with 256 grayscale levels and connect via USB 1.1 Full-Speed or USB 2.0 Hi-Speed. They operate on 5V USB power and support a temperature range of -20° to 65°C. An IP54-rated weather-resistant (WR) variant is available for dust and water resistance. Key software-dependent features (requiring SecuGen SDKs) include Auto-On automatic finger detection, Smart Capture self-adjusting scanning, and Device Recognition device authentication. The sensors also support latent print rejection and fingerprint template encryption when using SecuGen's proprietary template format. Supported biometric standards include INCITS 378, ISO/IEC 19794-2, ISO/IEC 19794-4, FIPS 201, FBI PIV, NIST MINEX, and WSQ. Compliance certifications include FCC, CE, and KC.
