1Password

1Password is an identity security company founded in 2005 that provides password management and access management solutions for individuals and businesses. The company's core product is its Enterprise Password Manager (EPM), which provides visibility into password security, breach alerts, and password health monitoring across organizations.

In 2024, 1Password launched Extended Access Management (XAM), which secures applications, devices, and identities used by employees through access management controls. The platform can enforce security policies such as blocking access when browsers are not up-to-date. The company also offers Secrets Automation for developers, introduced in 2021, to manage sensitive credentials and secrets in development workflows.

1Password serves over 1,300 employees globally and positions itself as addressing security as a human challenge through user-centric product design. The company's solutions aim to provide organizations with visibility into shadow IT, password security practices, and device compliance while enabling secure access to corporate resources.

The platform supports multiple operating systems including Mac, Windows, and iOS, and has evolved from a consumer password manager into an enterprise identity security solution. 1Password's approach combines password management with broader access controls to address authentication, device security, and application access across the organization.
