Safend Discoverer

Safend Discoverer is a data classification and discovery tool that locates sensitive data-at-rest stored on organizational endpoints. The tool uses rules-based keywords and pattern recognition technologies to classify company data and identify where sensitive information resides across the organization.

The product performs data classification based on keywords, pattern recognition of text and metadata, mathematical and logical verifiers, file types, and data fingerprinting. It provides mapping, alerting, and reporting capabilities to help security administrators understand data distribution and identify gaps in data protection and compliance.

Discoverer includes preconfigured security policies addressing specific regulatory compliance standards including PCI, HIPAA, GDPR EU, SOX, and European privacy legislation. The tool generates detailed reports and logs on classified data to help organizations create and implement companywide security procedures and policies.
