1Kosmos Identity-Backed Biometrics vs Silverfort Universal MFA: Side-by-Side Comparison (2026)

Short answer

Organizations replacing passwords with passwordless authentication need Identity-Backed Biometrics if liveness detection and government-ID verification matter more than SSO breadth. FIDO2 certification plus iBeta-certified liveness detection means you're getting cryptographically sound biometrics tied to real identity, not just fingerprint matching, and IAL2 compliance covers federal contractor requirements without retrofit. Skip this if your priority is replacing legacy AD/SAML infrastructure across 50 SaaS apps; 1Kosmos excels at high-assurance onboarding and device unlock, not at being your primary identity provider for everything. Organizations protecting legacy applications and OT systems should pick Silverfort Universal Multi-factor authentication because it enforces MFA without code changes or agent deployment, a constraint that kills most competitors in these environments. The agentless architecture extends MFA to Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, and command-line tools that modern solutions simply skip over, backed by risk-based enforcement tied to real-time threat signals for adaptive policy. Skip this if your infrastructure is cloud-native and you need MFA as one layer of a broader identity platform; Silverfort is deliberately built for the hard authentication problems that on-premises environments create.
