SonicWall Vulnerability Management is a vulnerability assessment platform designed for managed service providers. The platform performs automated scanning of customer assets using multiple techniques including port scanning, service detection, OS detection, SSL checks, authentication checks, CVE exploitation, and CCE discovery. The system supports both external and internal scanning through VM/Docker appliances or dedicated software agents that can be deployed on machines or within Active Directory environments. Scanning jobs run automatically according to predefined schedules, with administrators able to customize which ports are scanned and scan frequency. The platform generates Customer Vulnerability Reports (CVRs) that combine technical and business context by grouping applications based on their organizational purpose. Risk impact is influenced by custom business impact assessments and threat intelligence data, including information about public exploits targeting identified vulnerabilities. Reports are automatically updated when changes are detected in the customer footprint. Continuous monitoring capabilities track changes in the customer environment, including new open ports, application updates, and newly discovered vulnerabilities. Users can subscribe to notifications for new vulnerabilities or receive periodic updates. The platform maintains a customer footprint that automatically updates when new applications are identified during scanning.
