Socura Managed Detection and Response (MDR) is a managed security service delivered by a UK-based Security Operations Centre (SOC). The service combines analyst expertise, detection and response technology, and cyber threat intelligence to identify and contain threats on behalf of client organisations. The service follows a structured delivery model across five phases: 1. Scoping and Deployment – assessing the client's existing defences and identifying coverage gaps before implementing controls. 2. Configuration and Tuning – integrating security controls with available log sources and deploying detection rule updates via a proprietary Detection Rule Automation Engine (DRAE). 3. Alert Triage and Investigation – SOC analysts review and verify alerts around the clock, prioritising confirmed incidents for investigation. 4. Threat Containment and Disruption – executing pre-approved incident response playbooks to contain threats, with client notifications issued via an Incident Management Portal. 5. Reflection and Reporting – post-incident analysis and monthly service reviews covering key metrics and recommendations. Technology stack covers the SOC visibility triad: SIEM, Network Detection and Response (NDR), and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), with support for Extended Detection and Response (XDR). Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) is used to automate containment actions such as quarantining files, suspending accounts, and blocking command-and-control communications. The proprietary DRAE (patent pending) streamlines SIEM detection rule deployment and maintenance across all customer environments. Clients can use their existing technology stack or have Socura supply the required controls.
