ENFORCER SRX1 is a physical server and next-generation Hardware Security Module (HSM) designed for high-assurance confidential computing. It is built around ENFORCER R1 compute blades, which are certified to NIST FIPS 140-2 Level 4 (certification ongoing), providing both logical and physical tamper resistance. The device is designed so that operators — including cloud providers, data center administrators, and colocation facilities — cannot access client code or data, even with direct physical access or under compulsion. It executes and verifies full operating systems and applications within a tamper-proof security boundary, without requiring software customization or trust in a large third-party code base. Key security properties include: - Physical tamper-evidence, tamper-resistance, and tamper-reactive zeroization - Hardware and software integrity verification - Remote integrity validation for hardware, software, and data - Protection against hardware and software side-channel attacks - RF/EM emanation defenses - Built-in key management with KMIP support - Isolation of code and data from administrators and infrastructure operators The SRX1 runs standard x86 operating systems and off-the-shelf software, and is positioned as significantly more compute-efficient than traditional HSMs. Deployment scenarios include secure data centers, third-party colocation centers, enterprise branches, ATM and retail payment environments, aircraft and vehicle safety systems, and SCADA/smart-grid systems. Application use cases include enterprise key management, authentication and directory services, payment processing, secure trading, tamper-proof blockchain, and encrypted cloud computing via the CipherRack™ offering.
