MailGuard Live is a fully managed secondary email system designed for business continuity and email recovery during primary email server outages. It operates independently from the organisation's network and is accessible via any web browser. Key capabilities include: - Automatic queuing of all inbound and outbound email for a rolling period of up to 60 days - A fully functional webmail client that enables sending, receiving, reading, and composing emails during an outage - Access to personal address books within the webmail client - Authenticated log-in for employee access to the webmail interface - Seamless restoration of all queued email to the primary server once it comes back online During an outage, MailGuard Live can be manually activated to freeze the email queue, preventing any messages from being deleted. Inbound mail continues to be received and queued without bouncing, meaning outages remain invisible to external senders. All email processed through MailGuard Live continues to pass through MailGuard's email filtering stack, applying existing anti-spam, anti-virus, and filtering policies to both inbound and outbound messages. This provides protection against threats such as phishing, ransomware, and business email compromise (BEC). MailGuard Live is intended to supplement hosted email platforms such as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, providing a fallback access layer should those platforms become temporarily unavailable.
