HOPZERO DataTravel™ Security is an agentless endpoint security solution that limits data movement across a network by assigning each critical system a unique "hop radius" — a defined neighborhood of permitted communication peers. Rather than relying on perimeter-based defenses such as firewalls, IDS, or IPS, it restricts how far data can travel within the network, effectively reducing the attack surface from within. The system monitors normal network traffic to learn the communication patterns of each protected asset, then builds a custom peer neighborhood (called a HOPsphere Radius) for that asset. Once configured, any communication attempt that falls outside that defined radius is blocked, and the protected server becomes invisible to unauthorized parties — including internal users — without exposing a login prompt. When an unauthorized access attempt is detected, the system sends a silent alert to the security team, identifying the origin of the attack. This approach is intended to complement existing security infrastructure, including firewalls, rather than replace it. The solution is implemented without requiring software agents on endpoints, and does not require significant network upgrades. HOPZERO states implementation is carried out by their team in four basic steps. The product targets enterprise environments and has documented use cases in finance, healthcare, and military sectors.
