GenieAnalytics Deep Trace is a network traffic intelligence module that extends the GenieAnalytics platform by automatically correlating multiple data sources to enrich IP flow records with human-readable service and subscriber context. The product correlates traffic flow data with DNS, AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting), and NAT (Network Address Translation) records, combined with Genie's in-house mapping intelligence (GIIS – Genie Internet Information Service), to identify: - OTT (Over-the-top) service names and providers - CDN (Content Delivery Network) names and delivery paths - Public and private IP address mappings - Subscriber identity per traffic flow Two deployment modes are supported: - With DNS packet mirroring: The GA Ingestor mirrors AAA, NAT, and DNS records locally and correlates them with GIIS mapping data. - Without DNS packet mirroring: A subscription-based cloud service (GA Apex) supplies DNS data when local mirroring is not feasible, still enabling OTT service and CDN mapping. Enriched flow data can be used as analytics dimensions within GenieAnalytics for ad-hoc queries, filtering, and aggregation by service name, CDN, or subscriber attributes rather than raw IP addresses or AS numbers. Use cases include network planning, CDN partnership evaluation, on-net caching and peering negotiation, continuous service quality monitoring, and end-to-end troubleshooting from service to subscriber level.
