VirtuCrypt Cloud HSM is a cloud-based hardware security module (HSM) and key management service operated by Futurex. It enables organizations to provision and deploy HSMs and key management servers through a cloud infrastructure hosted across global data centers. The service is validated under FIPS 140-2 Level 3 and PCI HSM standards, providing cryptographic functionality for payment processing, key management, and data protection use cases. Key functional areas include: - Payment acquiring: PIN translation/verification, EMV validation, MAC generation, CVV generation/validation, financial key management, and mobile payment acceptance - Payment issuing: PIN/offset generation, EMV key generation/derivation, mobile payment token issuance, and web PIN management - Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE): Cardholder data decryption (FPE & DUKPT), data translation, and P2PE key management Key management options include Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) via the Excrypt Touch tablet, a key agent service where Futurex loads and stores key components on behalf of the customer, and HSM-generated keys using a FIPS 140-2-certified RNG. Redundancy options range from single-site to full redundancy with four HSMs across two sites, with SLA-backed uptime.
