EdgeWave iPrism Web Security is a web filtering and security solution that provides protection against web-based threats through multiple security layers. The product combines URL filtering with anti-virus scanning and HTTPS traffic inspection. The solution features EPIC iGuard URL analysis, which uses human review to categorize websites into 80 categories with daily database updates and hourly updates for emergent threats including botnets, spyware, malware, and phishing. URL categorization is performed by multi-lingual web content experts who assess sites by domain, specific URL, and IP address. iPrism includes Kaspersky SafeStream II anti-virus scanning for real-time data stream scanning of HTTP and HTTPS traffic with zero-day high-risk and infected URL feeds. The system performs HTTPS SNI and Host Certificate inspection for policy compliance, with selective TLS interception and proxy capabilities for full content inspection. The product offers granular policy enforcement with time-based access controls, configurable profile and ACL-based authentication, and customizable filters, exceptions, warnings, alerts, and quotas. It includes application filtering to monitor and block IM and P2P applications such as Skype and FTP. Additional security features include outbound anti-botnet protection that blocks command and control communications, anti-circumvention defense against proxy tools and anonymizer websites, and social media controls for platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Yammer. The solution provides on-box enterprise reporting and supports cloud-based offsite remote filtering for multiple platforms including Windows, OSX, iOS, Android, and Chromebook. Available as hardware appliances with different throughput capacities ranging from 20 Mbps to 500+ Mbps.
