The ACOS6-SAM Secure Access Module Card is a cryptographic smart card designed to function as a security authentication module for contact and contactless client cards. The card securely stores cryptographic keys and performs cryptographic computations without exposing master keys to terminals or applications. The module operates as an ISO 7816-compliant smart card with 32 KB of EEPROM storage. It supports multiple file structures including transparent, linear fixed, linear variable, and cyclic formats. The card implements DES, Triple DES, and AES-128 encryption algorithms, along with a hardware-based random number generator that meets FIPS140-2 standards. The ACOS6-SAM performs mutual authentication between terminals and client cards, implements secure messaging to protect data transmission from eavesdropping and replay attacks, and computes purse MAC for data integrity verification. It supports key diversification to enable diversified key entry without exposing master keys, and provides secure key injection capabilities for contactless cards with encryption and message authentication code protection. The card operates at baud rates switchable from 9,600 to 223,200 bps and features anti-tearing capability for transaction reliability. It implements a multilevel secured access hierarchy for granular security control. The module is designed for applications requiring secure cryptographic operations such as e-health transactions, payment systems, and access control implementations.
