Beyond Encryption Mailock for M365 vs DataStealth Data Protection: Side-by-Side Comparison (2026)

Short answer

SMB and mid-market teams standardized on Microsoft 365 should pick Beyond Encryption Mailock for M365 if message revocation is non-negotiable; the ability to recall emails even after a recipient opens them covers the mistake you'll inevitably make sending sensitive data to the wrong person. AES-256 encryption with SMS and Q&A recipient verification handles NIST PR.AA without requiring users to manage separate identity infrastructure. Skip this if your organization needs DLP that catches data before it leaves the network or if you're already enforcing encryption at the gateway level; Mailock layers on top of M365 rather than replacing email security controls. SMB and mid-market teams protecting sensitive data across hybrid environments will see immediate ROI from DataStealth Data Protection because it masks and tokenizes data at the field level without requiring application rewrites, letting you secure production data for testing and analytics in weeks instead of months. The platform's policy-driven tokenization with deterministic, reversible, and time-bound options covers PR.DS requirements across on-premises and cloud simultaneously, and support for both structured and unstructured data means you're not swapping tools later. Skip this if your use case is primarily encryption at rest on a single cloud platform; DataStealth's strength is the granular, no-code flexibility needed when you're moving masked data between test environments.
