Juniper Access Assurance is a cloud-based network access control service that provides secure wired and wireless network access control based on user and device identities. The service enforces Zero Trust network access policies for guest, IoT, BYOD, and corporate devices. The service uses cloud-hosted, microservices-based authentication to deliver access controls within an authorization policy framework. It provides identity fingerprinting based on X.509 certificate attributes and integrates with identity providers to assess user and device posture, verify eduroam credentials, and validate IdP credentials. Access Assurance can assign users specific roles and group them into network segments using VLAN or Group-Based Policy technology. The service captures all client events, including connection and authentication successes and failures, providing visibility into client connectivity experiences. The platform integrates with external directory services such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Azure Active Directory, and Okta Workforce Identity. It also integrates with external Public Key Infrastructure and MDM/UEM platforms for compliance and posture assessment. The service is deployed across multiple regional cloud instances to provide low-latency network access control for single location or multisite deployments. It receives automatic software updates on a bi-weekly basis through the microservices-based cloud architecture. The platform provides programmable APIs for integration with SIEM, firewalls, XDR systems, and ITSM platforms.
