IDEE

IDEE, operating under the product name "AuthN by IDEE," is a Munich-based identity security company founded in 2015. The company develops and provides a passwordless, phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication (MFA) solution designed for organizations seeking to eliminate account takeover attacks without relying on passwords or traditional authentication methods.

AuthN by IDEE is marketed as a 100% passwordless and phish-proof authentication platform that collects and stores zero personally identifiable information (PII) from end users. The solution supports a "same-device MFA" model, where users authenticate simply by unlocking their device, removing the need for separate authenticator apps or hardware tokens.

The platform is delivered as a SaaS product and is designed for rapid deployment. It targets regulated industries, with customers including financial institutions such as Deka Bank, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and beverage distribution companies. Use cases span securing Microsoft 365 environments, VPNs, terminal services, remote desktops, and shared service mailboxes.

IDEE distributes its product through managed service providers (MSPs) and resellers, and expanded its European distribution channel through TD Synnex in 2022. The company holds multiple patents related to digital identity and insider threat prevention.

The solution is positioned to address phishing attacks, credential theft, SIM swapping, and adversary-in-the-middle (AiTM) attacks by eliminating passwords and shared secrets from the authentication process entirely. IDEE emphasizes a privacy-first architecture as a core design principle.
