Binary Defense

Binary Defense is a managed security services provider founded by cybersecurity practitioners with backgrounds in both offensive and defensive security operations. The company operates a Security Operations Center (SOC) that provides 24/7 threat monitoring, detection, and response services to organizations.

The company was founded by David Kennedy (Chief Hacking Officer) and Mike Valentine, emerging from frustration with traditional cybersecurity vendors. Binary Defense positions itself as a team of analysts, threat hunters, detection engineers, and developers who apply an attacker's mindset to defensive operations.

Binary Defense delivers managed security services that emphasize proactive threat hunting and personalized support rather than automated reporting alone. The company's approach combines technical expertise from practitioners who have experience on both sides of cybersecurity—offensive and defensive—to provide security monitoring and incident response capabilities.

The company is headquartered in Stow, Ohio, and serves businesses seeking outsourced security operations capabilities. Their service model focuses on acting as an extension of client security teams, providing continuous monitoring, threat detection, and response services through their SOC infrastructure. The team includes security analysts and engineers who develop custom detection capabilities and hunt for threats across client environments.
