Akto

Akto provides an API security platform that discovers, tests, and protects API endpoints, LLM interfaces, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) endpoints. The platform offers automated API discovery from over 50 traffic and code connectors, enabling organizations to maintain visibility across their API infrastructure.

Akto's testing capabilities include a library of over 1,000 security tests that can be automated within CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows. The platform performs security testing for both traditional APIs and GenAI/LLM implementations, addressing vulnerabilities specific to AI-powered applications. Runtime API protection capabilities monitor and defend against threats in production environments.

The platform addresses API security posture management, sensitive data exposure detection, and provides continuous security testing throughout the development lifecycle. Akto integrates into existing development workflows and can be deployed as a plug-and-play solution. The company was named as a Representative Vendor in the 2024 Gartner Market Guide for API Protection.

Akto serves over 1,000 AppSec teams, including 20 of the Fortune 100 companies and 150 of the Fortune 1000. The company raised $4.5 million in seed funding led by Accel and has been recognized by industry publications including Forbes, Dark Reading, and CSO Online. The platform is available with both cloud and self-hosted deployment options.
