Material Security

Material Security provides a security platform designed specifically for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 environments. The company focuses on protecting cloud email and identity infrastructure from account takeovers, phishing attacks, and data loss. Their platform offers real-time identity threat detection, monitoring for unusual login patterns, privilege escalations, and suspicious email activity.

The solution includes automated audits of permissions and trust relationships, context-aware authentication enforcement, and incident response workflows with automated containment capabilities.

The platform addresses identity-based attacks by treating identity as a unified attack surface rather than managing it in silos. It monitors for indicators such as impossible travel scenarios, changes in email forwarding rules, unusual access to sensitive files or mailboxes, and suspicious sharing permissions. Material Security uses machine learning to detect anomalies that traditional rule-based systems might miss.

The company's approach integrates multiple security capabilities including email threat detection, account takeover prevention, and identity security posture management. Their solution is designed to help security teams understand and respond to risks and threats through features like an Email Threats Dashboard and Account View.

The platform aims to protect organizations without impacting productivity by automating detection, investigation, and remediation of compromised identities.
