LocateRisk

LocateRisk is a German cybersecurity SaaS company founded in 2018, headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany. The company originated from a hackathon organized by Sparkassen Versicherung, where its founders developed a software solution for assessing cyber risks in the B2B sector.

The platform analyzes and continuously monitors the external IT attack surface of organizations. It captures and assesses an organization's external-facing IT infrastructure, compressing the findings into a KPI-based security score. This score provides a transparent overview of an organization's IT security posture and supports rapid identification and remediation of vulnerabilities.

LocateRisk targets organizations across all industries and sizes, including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), critical infrastructure (KRITIS) operators, government ministries, and large energy corporations. The platform is designed to reduce the workload on IT administrators by providing actionable recommendations and management-ready reports.

Key capabilities include external attack surface analysis, continuous monitoring, cybersecurity ratings, and KPI-based security scoring. The platform also supports third-party risk management by enabling organizations to assess the security posture of their partners and suppliers. A free security rating is available as an entry-point offering.

The company is primarily focused on the German-speaking market (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) but also operates in English and French-speaking regions. LocateRisk positions its solution as an automated alternative to conventional, periodic security testing methods.
