HoPae

Hopae builds digital identity infrastructure focused on the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet ecosystem and eIDAS 2.0 compliance. The company provides identity verification solutions that enable organizations to integrate with EU digital identity wallets across all 27 Member States.

Their flagship product, Hopae Connect, serves as the first EU-registered intermediary platform under eIDAS 2.0, allowing businesses to meet regulatory obligations without building direct integrations to each Member State's wallet trust root.

The company offers hConnect, a global eID verification solution that supports identity verification across multiple jurisdictions. Their technology leverages decentralized identity principles with selective disclosure capabilities, enabling users to share only necessary identity attributes while maintaining control over their personal data.

Hopae's solutions target financial institutions, telecom operators, AML-regulated companies, Very Large Online Platforms (VLOPs), and other organizations legally required to verify user identities.

Hopae has raised $6.5 million in seed funding and maintains an open-source approach, with their SD-JWT-JS library accumulating over 4.2 million downloads. The company has completed research on 182 eID systems and partners with organizations like INCERT and KeSPA.

Based in Luxembourg, Hopae operates with a team representing over 10 nationalities and was recognized as a representative vendor in the 2024 Gartner Market Guide for Decentralized Identity.
