CyberSecDome is a European research project that develops virtual reality-based intrusion detection, incident investigation, and response capabilities for digital infrastructure security. The project combines artificial intelligence and VR technologies to create real-time threat analysis and situational awareness tools for cybersecurity operations. The project focuses on three core areas: employing VR and AI technologies to strengthen cybersecurity in digital infrastructure, conducting real-time threat analysis for swift incident response, and facilitating collaborative security measures across European stakeholders. The platform integrates explainable AI (XAI) with VR interfaces to provide security teams with immersive visualization of threats and incidents. CyberSecDome emphasizes privacy-aware information sharing among stakeholders and aims to enhance collaborative responses to cybersecurity incidents. The project operates through six work packages covering project management, requirements and architecture, AI-empowered security tools development, VR and XAI integration, pilot development and evaluation, and dissemination activities. The consortium includes academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners across Europe, including Technical University of Munich, Airbus CyberSecurity, Athens International Airport, telecommunications providers, and various cybersecurity research labs. The project develops and evaluates its capabilities through pilot implementations to assess effectiveness in protecting complex and heterogeneous digital infrastructures.
