Baffle

Baffle is a data security company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, with an additional office in Bengaluru, India. The company develops a no-code security platform that cryptographically protects sensitive data as it is created, used, and shared across cloud-native data stores, including those used for analytics, applications, and AI workloads.

Baffle's platform supports data masking, tokenization, and encryption using AES cryptographic standards. It is designed to integrate directly into data pipelines without requiring changes to application code or impacting user experience. The solution is compatible with major cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

The platform targets enterprises seeking to meet compliance controls and security mandates while reducing the operational burden of protecting sensitive information. Baffle reports protecting more than 100 billion records across customers ranging from Fortune 25 companies to small and medium-sized businesses. The company also works with system integrators to facilitate deployment across organizations.

In January 2025, Baffle launched a Data Discovery for GenAI capability, aimed at helping organizations identify and safeguard sensitive data used in generative AI projects while meeting privacy regulations. The company has raised over $35 million in funding from investors including True Ventures, ServiceNow Ventures, Thomvest Ventures, Clearvision Ventures, and Engineering Capital, among others.

Baffle was recognized by Inc. Magazine on its Inc. 5000 Regionals: Pacific list in 2024 and won InfoWorld's 2024 Technology of the Year Award.
