Atomicorp

Atomicorp is a cybersecurity company founded in 2015 that builds commercial security products on top of OSSEC, a widely used open source host-based intrusion detection system (HIDS). The company's core offering is Atomic Enterprise OSSEC, an enterprise-grade extension of the open source OSSEC project that adds a graphical management interface, threat intelligence, compliance reporting, file integrity monitoring (FIM), rootkit detection, active response management, and log analysis capabilities to the base OSSEC platform.

Atomic Enterprise OSSEC is designed to address security and compliance requirements for workloads deployed across multi-cloud and on-premises datacenter environments. The platform is compatible with a broad range of operating systems including Linux distributions (Debian, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Rocky, CentOS), Windows, macOS, Solaris, IBM AIX, and HP-UX.

It is also available on major cloud marketplaces including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and IBM Cloud.

Key capabilities of the platform include log-based intrusion detection, file integrity monitoring, rootkit detection, auditing, active response, SIEM export, process monitoring, and compliance reporting for standards such as PCI and DISA. The graphical interface differentiates the enterprise product from the command-line-only open source OSSEC, making it more accessible for enterprise operations teams.

Atomicorp's co-founders maintain active involvement in the open source community. CTO Scott Shinn serves as the OSSEC Project Manager, and CEO Mike Shinn has a background in ModSecurity and open source web application firewalls. The company serves hundreds of customers globally, including enterprises and organizations with critical security and compliance requirements.
