Aserto

Aserto is a company focused on modern authorization solutions for SaaS and cloud applications. The company develops access control tools designed to help software developers build enterprise-grade authorization into their applications without having to construct it from scratch.

Aserto's core mission is to address the gap in developer tooling around access control — an area they identify as critical to enterprise readiness but historically underserved. Their products target SaaS application developers who need to implement fine-grained, policy-based authorization capabilities that meet enterprise requirements.

The company was founded by Omri Gazitt (CEO) and Gert Drapers (CTO), both of whom have backgrounds at major technology organizations including Microsoft, HP Cloud, Splunk, Hulu, and various startups. Their combined experience spans developer-facing products such as .NET, SQL Server, Visual Studio, Azure, and Active Directory, providing the technical foundation for their approach to authorization infrastructure.

Aserto is backed by seed investors Costanoa Ventures and Heavybit, with a notable advisory network that includes founders and executives from companies such as GitHub, Netlify, and Replicated. The company is headquartered in the developer tools and security space, specifically targeting the identity and access management layer of modern cloud-native applications.
